TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 24, 2014) - Minera Alamos Inc. (the "Company" or "Minera Alamos") (TSX VENTURE:MAI) announced today that it has adjourned the special meeting of the shareholders originally scheduled for October 30, 2014. The adjourned meeting will take place at a time to be set by the Board of Directors of Minera Alamos (the "Board").
The meeting was requisitioned on August 20, 2014 by three shareholders. The purpose of the meeting, as stated by them, was to make changes to the Board and propose new nominees. In accordance with the Business Corporations Act (Ontario), the Board called the meeting on September 10, 2014.
The Company has requested from the requisitioning shareholders detail regarding the business to be conducted at the meeting including the names and qualifications of the proposed nominees. To date, the Company has not been provided with any such material.
Accordingly, the Board has determined that there is insufficient time to complete the meeting materials. As the Company will be calling its Annual General Meeting within the next 30 days, the Board has determined that it is in the best interest of the Company and all of the shareholders to adjourn the meeting.
