Nebula,
the enterprise private cloud company, and SYNNEX Corporation, a leading
distributor of IT products and services, today announced the Orion
Alliance for the rapid deployment and delivery of a fully integrated and
turnkey private cloud solution. The Orion Alliance delivers certified
and tested solutions for turnkey integration and turnkey delivery of
hardware and software applications across vendor platforms. As part of
this new program, customers now have an innovative OPEX-driven pricing
model where the integrated solution is paid for as-a-service through
SYNNEX’s exclusive utility financing program. Utility Finance by SYNNEX
Corporation helps customers overcome barriers to procurement, closely
align cost of capacity with actual business velocity and maximize use of
cash by eliminating day one over procurement.
Earlier this year, SYNNEX announced that it was the first distributor to
offer the fully integrated, turnkey private cloud rack system powered by
Nebula to the IT channel. With the Orion Alliance, Nebula and SYNNEX
have come together again to help companies deliver a turnkey rack-level
private cloud across hardware and software platforms.
“Unlike traditional partner programs and joint venture closed systems,
the Orion Alliance pre-integrates vendor solutions using open standards
and OpenStack,” said Tina
Nolte, VP of Product Management at Nebula. “And the new utility
finance pricing removes up-front costs for customers, allowing them to
innovate and procure for today’s needs and scale at the velocity of
their business.”
Kirk Nesbit, Vice President, Design and Support Services, SYNNEX
Corporation added, “For most organizations, acquisition of a private
cloud solution is a lengthy, capital intensive process. Nebula and
SYNNEX have cracked the code on delivering a private/hybrid cloud
solution that is cost-effective during early proof of concepts, and
scales out very well as projects move into production or high
availability, offering cloud infrastructure as-a-service when and where
customers need it."
SolidFire is the first vendor joining the Orion Alliance as a Strategic
Member for turnkey integration and turnkey delivery. SolidFire enables
customers to effectively consolidate a broad set of application
workloads within a single scalable, shared storage infrastructure.
“CIOs are demanding more from their infrastructure to keep pace with the
needs of their business. SolidFire is joining the Orion Alliance to make
the complexities of private cloud deployment, management and scale
simple,” said SolidFire’s VP of Corporate Development and Strategy, Dave
Cahill. “Tightly integrated with Nebula’s out-of-the-box OpenStack
experience, the scalability, automation and guaranteed performance
control of SolidFire’s block storage platform creates a turnkey
experience for customers demanding an enterprise-grade private cloud
solution.”
Vendors joining the Orion Alliance as a Solutions Member for product
interoperability, adding complimentary value to the Nebula One private
cloud include Arista, ActiveState, CloudBolt, CloudEndure, ElasticBox,
ForgeRock, NetApp, NuoDB, Racemi, RiverMeadow Software, Scalr, and Super
Micro.
