Sharna Burgess and Artem Chigvintsev are scheduled to perform onboard
SEATTLE, Oct. 14, 2014 /CNW/ -- Holland America Line has added the talents of professional dancers Sharna Burgess and Artem Chigvintsev to the remaining two 2014 "Dancing with the Stars: At Sea" theme cruises. Both currently performing on the ABC hit show "Dancing with the Stars," Burgess and Chigvintsev will join ms Westerdam for the theme cruise departing Nov. 29 and the Champions Cruise that sets sail Dec. 6. Both cruises sail roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to the Caribbean.
Burgess and Chigvintsev will be joined onboard the "Dancing with the Stars: At Sea" cruises by dance professional and Mirrorball Trophy winner Kym Johnson, and celebrities Carson Kressley and Sabrina Bryan.
Each "Dancing with the Stars: At Sea" theme cruise features guest performances from the professional dancers and stars, who dazzle the audience with routines from the television show. Additional events include dance lessons with the ship's professional dancers, a special fashion show featuring glamorous show costumes and a chance to meet the dance pros and celebrities, ask questions and take photos with them.
"Dancing with the Stars: At Sea" Dance Competition for Guests
The Dec. 6 cruise also is the Champions Cruise and will feature 15 guests representing each ship in the fleet competing for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy and title of Holland America Line's "Dancing with the Stars: At Sea" Champion.
Winners of the guest competitions with the highest scores from each Holland America Line ship earlier this year will compete for the Mirrorball Trophy in a dance-off finale.
Go "On Location" in the Caribbean
The Nov. 29 theme cruise will visit Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and Half Moon Cay, the line's award-winning private Bahamian island known for its pristine beaches, diverse shore excursions, exclusive beach cabanas and kid-friendly activities. The Champions Cruise on Dec. 6 swaps a port call in St. Maarten with a visit to St. Thomas and features the other ports.
On each cruise, experiences such as steel drum performances and classes, cooking demonstrations of dishes such as Caribbean Pepper Pot and Jerk Grouper, and Caribbean rum tasting are part of Holland America Line's "On Location" program. The itinerary sets the scene for guests to indulge in localized experiences that make time on board as enriching as visiting the ports of call through lectures, demonstrations and performances.
Fares begin at $349 per person, double occupancy for a seven-day cruise. Visit Holland America Line's website, www.hollandamerica.com, and browse the extensive menu of Caribbean options, contact a travel professional or call 1-877-SAIL-HAL (1-877-724-5425) for more information.
