Accuvant and FishNet Security Experts to Present Six Sessions at RSA Conference 2015

BX

Accuvant and FishNet Security, which recently joined together to create the nation’s premier cyber security solutions provider, today announced that several members of their Office of the CISO will participate in six different sessions at RSA Conference 2015. Topics include the role of the CISO, threat intelligence, third-party risk, how to communicate with the board of directors, and others. The event is scheduled to take place from April 20-24, 2015 at the Mascone Center in San Francisco.

“One of our passions is to help the community of security leaders to unite and grow as C-level business executives and influence change for good,” said Jason Clark, head of the Office of the CISO. “The RSA Conference is an excellent venue for us to connect with a large portion of this community and share our expertise on how to build and lead a robust information security program.”

Sessions include:

How to Become a World-Class CISO
Who/Topic: In this panel session, vice president James Christiansen along with top CISOs and an executive recruiter will offer insights on how to build a CISO resume, experience and relationships, as well as advice on the practices that make CISOs highly successful.
When/Where: Tuesday, April 21 at 3:30 p.m./South Room: Viewing Point at Gateway
Track: Sponsor Special Topics

Be Heard: Developing Effective Board-Level Communications for the CISO
Who/Topic: Following the latest highly publicized breach, boards of directors want to hear from their information security team. Director Kai Axford will lead a discussion on how to effectively communicate in board-level meetings.
When/Where: Tuesday, April 21 at 3:30 p.m./North Room: 133
Track: Crowdsourced

Inside the Boardroom: How Boards Manage Cybersecurity and Risk
Who/Topic: Vice president Renee Guttmann will join this panel session focused on how to oversee cyber risks. Panelists will reveal critical topics discussed behind closed doors, what questions boards are asking, what information they need to understand risk, and what the ideal relationship between the board and the CIO and the CISO looks like.
When/Where: Wednesday, April 22 at 9:10 a.m./West Room: 2008
Track: Governance, Risk & Compliance

A Dialogue on Threat Intelligence KPIs
Who/Topic: As enterprises continue to infuse threat intelligence data into their security operations, they look for key performance indicators to report back to their organization, the CIO and their business on the value they are receiving from their expenditure. Finding ways to quantify benefit, from what is essentially a data stream, is the focus of this peer-to-peer session led by director Rafal Los.
When/Where: Wednesday, April 22 at 10:20 a.m./West Room: 3000
Track: Peer2Peer

Don’t Get Left in the Dust: How to Evolve from CISO to CIRO
Who/Topic: The responsibilities of the CISO have expanded beyond the security of the enterprise to concentrate on managing the risk of the information, regardless of where it resides. In this session James Christiansen will co-present on how the CISO role has evolved into the chief information risk officer (CIRO) and the emerging, yet controversial CIRO reporting structure within the organization.
When/Where: Wednesday, April 22 at 11:30 a.m./West Room: 3005
Track: C-Suite View

Best Practice or Bust? Test Your Approach to Third-Party Risk
Who/Topic: More than half of all security breaches originate from a third-party breach. Join James Christiansen for a highly interactive whiteboard session that will focus on participants sharing lessons learned for extending internal security practices to vendors to reduce third-party risk. After suggestions are documented and debated, audience polls will determine each idea’s validity if implemented across various industries.
When/Where: Thursday, April 23 at 11:20 a.m./North Room: 133
Track: Crowdsourced
