Accuvant and FishNet Security, which recently joined together to create
the nation’s premier cyber security solutions provider, today announced
plans to launch their new, combined corporate name and brand, and to
begin conducting business as Optiv Security in summer 2015. This change
will enable the company to complete its transformational growth merger
and allow it to become the strategic primary source that helps
organizations more effectively fight the cyber security battle. The
announcement was made at RSA Conference 2015.
“I am extremely appreciative of all our employees for their
extraordinary efforts thus far in expertly bringing two sizeable and
successful companies together in such a short time frame,” said Dan
Burns, chief executive officer for Accuvant and FishNet Security. “The
Optiv name and brand launch, scheduled to take place this summer, will
represent an important milestone in the evolution of our company. It
will serve as the umbrella under which Accuvant and FishNet Security
will formally become one, entirely cohesive, advanced and comprehensive
cyber security solutions provider. I truly am looking forward to
beginning to operate as Optiv later this year, and to building on our
previous brands to make Optiv the most trusted partner in our space.”
“Optiv” (pronounced ahp-tih-v) is a newly coined word derived from
“active” and “operative,” alluding to intelligent collaboration. It
evokes the idea of giving organizations a clear field of vision, helping
them understand their options, and providing them with what they need to
take action and to successfully execute.
“I’m excited about the name Optiv. It’s concise, descriptive and speaks
to today’s security needs,” said Steve Perkins, chief marketing officer
for Accuvant and FishNet Security. “We feel confident that Optiv and all
that it stands for will result in an identity that is extremely
meaningful to our clients, employees, partners and shareholders, and
will stand the test of time.”
The company chose Optiv as its new name after an extensive selection and
vetting process that included reviewing more than 1,200 possibilities;
considering feedback from clients, employees across the organization,
partners and shareholders; and conducting extensive linguistics
screenings and legal searches.
Separately, Accuvant and FishNet Security also today announced that its
worldwide headquarters will be located in Denver. The company’s Overland
Park, Kans. location will continue to serve as its showcase facility
with its state-of-the-art Executive Briefing Center and Security
Operations Center (SOC). The company’s extensive geographic footprint
includes more than 60 offices, SOCs and training centers, with nearly
1,500 employees located across the United States and Canada.
“Our Denver and Overland Park locations will each continue to serve as
major operational centers for our business,” said Burns. “Our plan is to
continue to expand our company’s presence in Colorado, Kansas, across
the country, and ultimately around the world so that we can more
effectively meet the largest organizations’ needs, both in North America
and abroad.”
Clients working with Accuvant and FishNet Security will not experience
changes to their service as a result of the headquarters announcement or
impending name change. Contracts, invoices, statements of work and other
materials will continue to be branded Accuvant and FishNet Security
until the third quarter of this year. Accuvant and FishNet Security will
provide clients and partners with more information regarding the brand
change after the launch this summer.
