iCitizen,
the leading civic engagement platform, has named Russell P. Reeder as
Chief Executive Officer. iCitizen makes transparency and accountability
possible in government, enabling citizens to engage directly with their
representatives on issues that they, as constituents, care most about.
It provides the missing tool necessary for great leadership to elected
officials, connecting them with real-time insight into the views of
their constituents on critical issues facing our country.
Reeder will lead iCitizen into a new phase of development, as the
platform builds upon the 100,000+ users who have connected with their
elected officials at the local, state and federal levels of government
through the application.
“Citizens crave a seamless, real-time connection with their elected
officials,” says Reeder. “This is what our app is all about. iCitizen is
a virtual forum that offers citizens real-time policy information and
advocacy tools and connects citizens to elected leaders at every level
of government. Our best-of-breed team continues to build a technology
platform so citizens of all ideologies can discover or rediscover the
virtues of civic engagement.”
Last year, Reeder was named as one of socalTECH – 50 Ones to Watch.
Prior to joining iCitizen, Reeder led the premium cloud hosting company
Media Temple, where he was responsible for the company’s brand,
strategic direction and operational execution. Reeder also helped
facilitate the successful sale and integration of Media Temple to
GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY).
Reeder has more than twenty years of experience in the technology
sector, having successfully led several venture and private
equity-backed technology companies from start-up to profitability and
strong growth. Before Media Temple, Reeder was instrumental in the
growth of LibreDigital, the leader in digital publishing distribution,
where he was president and CEO. Reeder began his career as a software
engineer and went on to serve in management positions at Oracle (NYSE:
ORCL).
“We are thrilled to have Russ on board,” said M. Duncan Dashiff,
Chairman and Founder of iCitizen. “He is an optimist with energy and a
proven track record of executing winning business strategies. He has the
vision for defining the citizen engagement space and the experience and
acumen to develop and execute a winning and measurable strategic plan.
iCitizen is fortunate to have his leadership in place.”
Reeder underscored the urgent necessity of iCitizen, stating, “We’re
committed to building a technology platform that gives the public the
power to form and vocalize cognizant policy judgments, making it
possible for all Americans to become active, engaged citizens."
