PG&E Supports Golden State Warriors Victory Parade in Oakland with
Trucks, Banners and Floats
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is offering six lucky
#PGEPowerFans a “golden” opportunity to win a chance to participate in
the Golden State Warriors’ victory parade in Oakland on Friday, June 19.
In honor of the Warriors first championship title in 40 years, PG&E also
invites all fans to follow, like and post on the company’s social media
properties: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Winners will be selected Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 5 p.m. and must 18
years or older and reside within 75 miles of Oakland, California. PG&E
employees, families and affiliates are not eligible to win. For more
information, and a complete list of contest rules as well as ways to
participate, visit www.pge.com/parade.
“PG&E is proud to support the City of Oakland, Bay Area residents and to
call the Golden State Warriors our local champions. The Warriors
post-season has been full of amazing energy and PG&E would like to offer
six lucky customers the opportunity to feel the energy at Friday’s
victory parade,” said Laurie Giammona, senior vice president and chief
customer officer for PG&E.
The utility also proudly supports the Warriors #StrengthInNumbers and
will provide several vehicles to pull parade floats and bucket trucks to
hang banners along the victory parade route in Oakland.
In time for Game 3 of the finals, PG&E and the City of Oakland decked
out the perimeter of Oakland’s
Lake Merritt with Warriors’ colored bulbs. The blue LED bulbs were
installed over a two day period by the City’s Public Works Department
through a grant from PG&E for the energy efficient lights as well as the
labor costs associated with the project.
PG&E has a long and sustained relationship with the Golden State
Warriors. As a team sponsor, PG&E has sponsored the Local
Warriors Award, the program that honors those who make significant
contributions to communities in Northern California. Winners scored a
donation to their favorite charity and were introduced at a Warriors
basketball game earlier this year. PG&E and the Warriors have also
collaborated in the refurbishment of local basketball courts, including Oakland’s
San Antonio Park, the Boys
& Girls Clubs of San Francisco’s Columbia Park Clubhouse and the
Ella Hutch Community Center in San Francisco. An additional court
refurbishment is planned later this year at the Oakland Police
Activities League.
