Ooma,
Inc. (NYSE:OOMA), a leading smart business and home communications
platform, has been named a gold winner in the Small or Medium Business
Product of the Year in Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business
awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts.
The fifth annual program in North America boasted the highest number of
submissions to date. More than 600 entries were received this year, from
a wide array of public and private companies of all sizes and from a
variety of industries and geographic regions in the U.S. and Canada.
“We are honored that Ooma Office has been named a gold winner in the
Best of Biz Awards for its high-quality, low-cost and value-added
business capabilities,” said Eric Stang, CEO of Ooma. “Ooma delivers
communications and other connected services that provide our customers
access to enterprise-grade features and quality so they can expand and
manage their small businesses more efficiently.”
Winners of Best in Biz Awards 2015 were determined based on scoring from
an independent panel of 46 judges from highly recognized newspapers,
business, consumer and technology publications, radio outlets, and
analyst firms. Judge Sheryl Nance-Nash from Upscale Magazine touted Ooma
Office, saying, “Ooma deserves the gold award because it addresses many
small business owners’ issues. No small business wants to look ‘small’
in the marketplace. Ooma offers small business owners a chance to level
the playing field — to appear professional and bigger than they are,
without huge costs or being so complicated the average small business
owner needs to hire help to explain how the product works. Secondly,
Ooma is affordable, which is key for every small business. But what
really got my attention, in addition to the phone service features, was
the new Business Promoter service to help businesses get found online
with listings in search, directories and online maps. With the claim
that it generates 4-6 qualified calls per month, this alone makes Ooma a
winner.”
The judging panel included contributors to ABC, About.com, Bloomberg
Businessweek, Buffalo News, Business News Daily, Chip Design Magazine,
Computerworld, Consumer Affairs, CRN, ECT News Network, eWeek Channel
Insider, Fast Company, Fierce Online Video, Forbes, FOX News Latino,
