COPsync CEO's Remarks at the Second Annual United for Blue Police Rally

DALLAS, April 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- COPsync, Inc. (NASDAQ: COYN), which operates the nation's only law enforcement in-car information sharing and data communication network and the COPsync911™ threat-alert service for schools, government buildings, hospitals and other potentially at-risk facilities, participated in the Second Annual United for Blue Police Rally and March on April 2 in Washington, DC.

COPsync CEO Ron Woessner addressed the attendees at the Rally in Washington, DC, to discuss the importance of protecting law enforcement officers and thanking them for their heroism. Below are Mr. Woessner's full remarks as prepared for delivery:

"When we need someone to come TO OUR rescue … when we need a hero -- we think of a police officer.

"In August of 2000, Texas State Trooper Randy Vetter was killed during a so-called routine traffic stop for a seatbelt violation. The murderer was a known threat to law enforcement. Now, let's fast-forward 16 years to this week. Sadly, not much has changed. This past Thursday, Virginia State Trooper Chad Dermeyer was shot and killed by a person with a known criminal history who reportedly harbored a deep-seated hatred for law enforcement.

"So, why is it that officers are being killed by persons who are known threats to law enforcement? Because there are 18,000 state and local law enforcement agencies, and virtually NOT one of them can share mission-critical, actionable information with any other agency or communicate crimes in progress to another agency.

"The line of duty officer deaths in 2016 demand improvements in officer safety. To truly honor our law enforcement heroes, we must arm them with information to keep them safer and help them interdict crime and criminal behavior more effectively. COPsync -- the company for whom I have the privilege to serve as CEO -- aims to prevent these tragedies with its real-time information sharing and DATA communication Network. This Network enables officers to share mission-critical information and communicate in real-time across agency jurisdictional boundaries. This keeps officers safer and helps them protect and serve.

"In closing, I want to thank United for Blue for giving us this opportunity to honor law enforcement officers for their courage and dedication.

"Thank you, and God Bless our hardworking heroes."
