Xplore Secures Additional Order with Major Telecommunications Provider for Two Rugged Tablet
Platforms
Xplore Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: XPLR), manufacturer of the world’s broadest range of high quality rugged
tablet computers, announced today it has secured an additional order for its Xplore Bobcat and XSLATE B10 fully rugged tablet
computers from a major telecommunications provider. The telecommunications provider deployed the Bobcat and XSLATE B10 tablets in
2014 and 2015, and recently placed a follow-up order, bringing the total number of Bobcats and XSLATE B10s to more than 7,000
tablets. The additional $300K purchase order of Bobcats, B10s, and accessories is for the company’s southwest region to accommodate
new hires.
The tablets are used by field service technicians in the construction and engineering divisions, who are responsible for
building the company’s network. Cable splicers and their managers use the tablets on-site when attaching cables to equipment and
splicing both copper and fiber cables together. With the Xplore Bobcat and Xplore B10 rugged tablets, technicians can perform a
number of tasks, such as accessing and electronically editing and annotating work prints, time reporting, ordering facility reports
and supplies, and obtaining GPS driving directions.
“The additional orders from this telecommunications customer proves that both the Bobcat and XSLATE B10 are ideal mobile
technology platforms for field technicians,” said Mark Holleran, president and chief operating officer for Xplore. “Both are
certified for 4G LTE usage around the world, providing field technicians with the mobility and reliability required for critical
telecommunications business operations. Equipped with a robust set of features, the Bobcat and B10 tablets deliver increased
mobility, greater efficiency, and significant cost savings for our customers.”
The Xplore Bobcat and XSLATE B10 are lightweight, yet fully rugged, 10.1” tablets that provide ultra-mobility, superior
connectivity, and maximum protection. Both weigh only 2.4 lbs. and are IP65 and MIL-STD-810G rated to protect critical data under
the most demanding conditions. Available with a range of Intel® processors, the Bobcat and XSLATE B10 are each engineered to
deliver high-performance mobility via full version Microsoft® Windows® 10 / 8.1 / 7 operating systems. The tablets offer up to 20
hours of hot-swappable battery life, maximizing time in the field and boosting productivity.
