Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:

  • Wall Street expects Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE: WMT) to report quarterly earnings at $1.02 per share on revenue of $120.29 billion before the opening bell. Wal-Mart shares gained 0.64 percent to $73.40 in after-hours trading.
  • Analysts expect Gap Inc (NYSE: GPS) to post quarterly earnings at $0.48 per share on revenue of $3.78 billion after the closing bell. Gap shares rose 1.27 percent to close at $25.46 on Wednesday.
  • NetApp Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP) reported better-than-expected earnings for its fiscal first quarter on Wednesday. NetApp shares surged 7.45 percent to $31.00 in the after-hours trading session.
  • Analysts are expecting Hormel Foods Corp (NYSE: HRL) to have earned $0.35 per share on revenue of $2.26 billion in the latest quarter. Hormel will release earnings before the markets open. Hormel shares gained 0.69 percent to $36.60 in after-hours trading.
  • Before the opening bell, Stage Stores Inc (NYSE: SSI) is projected to report its quarterly earnings at $0.05 per share on revenue of $347.07 million. Stage Stores shares dropped 4.34 percent to close at $5.73 on Wednesday.

  • Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO) reported stronger-than-expected results for its fourth quarter, but issued a weak earnings forecast for the current quarter. Cisco also said it will reduce its current 73,104 person workforce by up to 5,500. Cisco shares declined 1.01 percent to $30.41 in pre-market trading.
  • Wall Street expects Applied Materials, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMAT) to post quarterly earnings at $0.48 per share on revenue of $2.84 billion after the closing bell. Applied Materials shares rose 0.44 percent to $27.41 in after-hours trading.
  • L Brands Inc (NYSE: LB) posted upbeat earnings for its second quarter after market close on Wednesday. L Brands shares gained 2.98 percent to $76.27 in the after-hours trading session.
  • After the closing bell, Ross Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROST) is expected to post its quarterly earnings at $0.67 per share on revenue of $3.13 billion. Ross Stores shares rose 0.70 percent to close at $62.30 on Wednesday.
  • Agilent Technologies Inc (NYSE: A) posted better-than-expected earnings for its third quarter. However, the company reported downbeat quarterly sales and issued a weak FY16 guidance. Agilent shares dropped 4.23 percent to $46.38 in the after-hours trading session.
