Ice Cube took to Twitter Inc (NASDAQ: TWTR) to announce a possible final sequel for the classic "Friday," the movie which
helped launched his film career over 20 years ago.
Fans have awaited another sequel, especially one featuring fan favorite Chris Tucker who appeared only in the first film. Ice
Cube hinted at a possible return of all the classic characters if the film does get made and said it's on Time
Warner's (NYSE: TWX) New Line Cinemas to get the deal
done.
In 24 hours, Ice Cube amassed over 22,000 retweets regarding "Friday's" potential comeback.
There have been talks of other 90s favorites coming back to theaters as well.
"Bad Boys" -- Will Smith and Martin Lawrence -- is set to launch its third installment in 2018, titled "Bad Boys For Life"
following up on 1995's "Bad Boys" and 2003's "Bad Boys II."
While not necessarily a sequel, cult classic "The Big Lebowski" is reported to get a spinoff, titled "Going Places" with John
Turturro reprising his role as Jesus Quintana. Susan Sarandon is co-staring in the spinoff alongside Bobby Cannavale and Audrey
Tautou.
It's a good time to be a 90s movie fan.
