WASHINGTON, Oct. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Fannie Mae (OTC
Bulletin Board: FNMA) is proud to announce that Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer Kimberly
Johnson was recognized by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) with the 2016 Women of Excellence Award
for Community Service.
The annual NAFE Women of
Excellence Awards honor the achievements and accomplishments of outstanding women committed to serving and enriching their
workplaces, their communities, and the world. Winners are chosen for their vision, courage, compassion, proven success, and
generosity as demonstrated by how they help other women and girls succeed.
Throughout her career, Ms. Johnson has been an advocate for women and minorities in science, math, and technology and is
deeply involved in the company's efforts to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace. She serves as a Director on the Boards of
the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the Communities in Schools of the Nation's Capital, and
the After-School All Stars. Ms. Johnson also serves on Princeton's Women in Leadership Council and
routinely returns to her alma mater to support the development of young women.
"Business and corporate women who focus on ensuring the success of other women often do this work under the radar, and it is
our privilege to call them out as NAFE Women of Excellence," says Dr. Betty Spence, president of
NAFE. "Our 2016 honorees have achieved great – often glittering – success in their own careers and businesses; and what's more,
they are using their power and influence to spur the progress of younger women by sponsoring, mentoring, promoting, and funding
them, breaking barriers and changing policies so those coming up have a clearer path to success than they might have had."
Subha V. Barry, Vice President, General Manager, Working Mother Media, says, "This year's
'Women of Excellence' inspire us with their diverse backgrounds, accomplishments and not only achieving success but helping other
women succeed. They are changing the landscape for women by mentoring women in their workplaces and communities."
