Musk Sends Tremors Through Tech World, Promises To Create Method To Tunnel Under Traffic

TSLA

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA)'s CEO Elon Musk, like hundreds of millions of people across the world, hates sitting in traffic. However, unlike the hundreds of millions of people who are limited to complaining about traffic, Musk can actually do something about it.

"Traffic is driving me nuts," Musk said in a tweet over the weekend. "Am going to build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging."

He added in another tweet the company will be called "The Boring Company" and he is "actually going to do this."

The company may even have a slogan: "Boring, it's what we do."

Observant followers of the billionaire CEO also realized that Musk changed his Twitter bio to "Tesla, SpaceX, Tunnels (yes, tunnels) & OpenAI."

Is He Serious?

As noted by TechCrunch, Musk typically doesn't joke around when it comes to new business ideas. In this case, he may have thought out a proper solution to combating traffic and has ideas of how to avoid disrupting pipes and sewers that are under roads — not to mention obtaining the necessary permits and permissions from various municipalities.

TechCrunch added that Musk certainly isn't an "imaginative teenager" whose idea for combating traffic are either creating flying cars or digging tunnels.
