Jerrick Unveils The Omni Archive: Entire Collection of Iconic Sci-Fi Magazine Now Available Online

PR Newswire

NEW YORK, May 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Jerrick Media Holdings, Inc., (OTCQB: JMDA) (the "Company" or "Jerrick"), announced today the launch of The Omni Archive ; sponsored by the Museum of Science Fiction (MOSF), the initiative features every issue of the seminal science fiction publication Omni.

Spanning from 1978 to 1995, Omni Magazine was an award-winning science fiction magazine, published in over six languages in the US and the UK with a circulation of 850,000 at its peak. Created by publishing mogul Bob Guccione, Omni introduced fiction from masters such as George R.R. Martin, Orson Scott Card, Stephen King, William Gibson and Joyce Carol Oates, artwork from H.R. Giger, Rafal Olbinski, Hajime Sorayama and John Berkey, along with interviews of Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury and Ben Bova.

Through The Omni Archive , all 200 issues of the published magazines are available for viewing and purchase on Amazon. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the nonprofit organization Museum of Science Fiction (MOSF), the world's first comprehensive science fiction museum in Washington, D.C. This is the first time the collection has been available for digital download in high-resolution.

Jerrick's CEO Jeremy Frommer said, "Jerrick is solving for a problem in the digital space. There has been limited success creating an environment for vintage magazines to reassert themselves with relevance in today's market. We believe giving life to old content in the new digital ethos and supporting the initiatives of MOSF in the science fiction community is meaningful. Early feedback indicates great consumer interest with this initiative. With Jerrick's launch of this capability, we are introducing a new line of revenue opportunities for Jerrick in a market space with seemingly unlimited archival content. Omni is the first of two vintage magazine brands planned for launch in Q2 and we are engaged in active discussions with a number of other well-known and beloved brands."

In conjunction with The Omni Archive, Jerrick released Omni : The New Frontier  as a Vimeo On Demand subscription series. The original Frontier was a short-lived television show based on Omni Magazine. Re-digitized for the digital era, the VOD Frontier explores vintage science fiction video content from one of the most prolific eras of the genre.
