JACKSON, Mich., June 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CMS Energy and
Consumers Energy today announced Jean-Francois (JF) Brossoit, currently senior vice president of transformation and shared
services, will succeed Dan Malone, senior vice president of engineering, and assume his
responsibilities when Malone retires Nov. 1, 2017.
Brossoit will assume the new role of senior vice president of transformation, operations support and engineering. He will be
responsible for the company's engineering roles, lean management office, supply chain, corporate safety and health, fleet,
facilities, emergency management, real estate and general services.
"JF has demonstrated a commitment to lean operating principles that can help us achieve world class performance delivering
hometown service," said Patti Poppe, president and CEO of CMS Energy and Consumers Energy. "We
expect him to play an important role as we combine groups that have natural synergies within our company, all with the goal of
better serving customers."
Brossoit joined CMS Energy and Consumers Energy in 2016. He previously served as vice president, manufacturing operation at
United Technologies – Climate, Control and Security (UTC) in Jupiter, Fla. Prior to joining UTC
in 2006, he served in several management roles at General Motors Corp.
Malone has spent 33 years with the company, serving as a leader in several positions, which have included generation,
distribution and customer operations, engineering, transmission and energy resources. He was instrumental in transforming
Consumers Energy's generating plants to be clean and lean, highlighted by a 25 percent reduction in the company's carbon
footprint when seven coal-fired plants closed last year.
Malone also has overseen the company's generating plants through a period of record employee safety and led Consumers Energy's
involvement in the Pure Michigan Business Connect economic development initiative, which includes an ongoing commitment to spend
$5 billion over five years with Michigan businesses.
"Dan provided a reliable and strong voice for our company, focusing on improving performance across our operations while
working to build a culture where it's critical that all employees go home safely every day," Poppe said. "There is no doubt Dan's
many contributions will leave our entire company better than he found it."
