VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- OK2 Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V:OK) (the “Company” or
“OK2”) is pleased to announce that diamond drilling has commenced at the Pyramid Project located about 50km north of Dease Lake at
the top of the “Golden Triangle”. The diamond drill program will focus on the copper-gold porphyry zones identified by previous
exploration programs including the recently completed RC drill program (News Release dated August 14, 2017). A program consisting
of approximately four holes totaling 2,000 meters is planned.
The large Pyramid project was staked in 2013 and now after four seasons of detailed exploration including
airborne geophysics, ground geophysics, soil and rock sampling plus detailed geological mapping the project has demonstrated a
strong porphyry copper gold potential. This under-explored project is located in the renowned and productive Quesnellia Terrane in
Northwest B.C. Nearby porphyry projects include the Red Chris Cu-Au Mine and Galore Creek Cu-Au deposit.
This season has been exciting at Pyramid, beginning with the completion of the RC drill program. The goal of
this program was to further define the known target areas for follow up diamond drilling. Now that the RC program has been
successfully completed and the results reviewed, the company has commenced a minimum 2000 meter, 3-4 hole, diamond drill program.
The main areas of focus will be drill testing two zones, the Central and West Zones with deeper diamond drill holes testing beyond
the limits of the RC drill.
Mike Devji, CEO states: “Over the last four years the company has spent more than $3 million defining these
targets in a very systematic approach and results every year have been very encouraging as we keep advancing the project to a drill
ready stage. We look forward to drilling these high priority targets at depth while fully testing the true potential of this
large-scale porphyry target in BC."
