Atlanta Gold Announces U.S. District Court Decision on Clean Water Act

Atlanta Gold Inc. (the "Company") (TSXV:ATG; OTC Pink:ATLDF) announces that on September 15, 2017, the U.S. District Court for the State of Idaho (the "Court") granted a motion for Civil Contempt, recently filed by Plaintiffs Idaho Conservation League and Northwest Environmental Defense Center against Atlanta Gold Corporation ("AGC"), the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary. This motion reopened a previously closed case related to AGC violating a certain permit issued under Clean Water Act (the "Act"), first filed in 2011, specifically concerning discharges of water containing arsenic and iron from a mining adit into Montezuma Creek, a tributary stream of the Middle Fork of the Boise River, located near Atlanta, Idaho (see the Company's news releases of January 10, 2012 and November 11, 2016).

The Court ruled in the decision:

1) that a new injunction will issue requiring that AGC make improvements to its water treatment system so as to bring the system into substantial compliance with the subject permit no later than August 30, 2018;

2) that additional penalties for the permit violations are imposed upon AGC in the amount of US$251,000; and

3) that if AGC fails to bring its water treatment system into complete compliance by August 30, 2018, it will be fined an additional US$251,000.

AGC continues to make improvements to its water treatment system to bring it into full compliance with effluent limitations in its permit.

About the Company

Atlanta Gold Inc. holds through its 100% owned subsidiary, Atlanta Gold Corporation (“AGC”), leases, options or ownership interests in its Atlanta properties which comprise approximately 2,159 acres (8.74 square kilometres) located 90 air kilometers east of Boise, in Elmore County, Idaho. A long history of mining makes Atlanta very suitable for development of new mining projects. The Company is focused on advancing its core asset, Atlanta, towards mine development and production.

The Company is also focused on advancing its exploration and processing methods on the Neal Property, which is located approximately 15 miles from Boise, Idaho and comprises approximately 192 acres (0.78 square kilometres). The Neal Property’s geology is similar to that of the Atlanta Project and it provides the Company with all-season access to further refine the processing equipment and procedures. AGC holds a five-year lease on the Neal Property and has staked an additional seven contiguous claims on public land that was open to mineral entry.

NEITHER THE TSX VENTURE EXCHANGE NOR ITS REGULATION SERVICES PROVIDER (AS THAT TERM IS DEFINED IN THE POLICIES OF THE TSX VENTURE EXCHANGE) ACCEPTS RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ADEQUACY OR ACCURACY OF THIS RELEASE.
