If you wish to serve as lead plaintiff, you must move the Court no later than November 13, 2017. A lead plaintiff is
a representative party acting on behalf of other class members in directing the litigation. Any member of the putative class may
move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff through counsel of their choice, or may choose to do nothing and remain an absent class
member.
According to the Complaint, throughout the Class Period, Equifax issued materially false and/or misleading statements, and/or
failed to disclose, that the Company failed to maintain proper security systems, controls and monitoring systems in place to
protect its data systems and detect security breaches. On September 7, 2017, Equifax announced that its systems were hacked in a
cybersecurity incident that may have affected about 143 million U.S. consumers. According to the Company, hackers accessed names,
Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and driver’s license numbers. Hackers also accessed credit card numbers for about
209,000 consumers.
Following the release of this information, the Company’s shares fell more than 13%, or $19.49 per share to close at $123.23 on
September 8, 2017. Since the announcement of the cyberattack, Equifax has lost more than $5 billion in market cap.
