BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., May 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TOMI Environmental Solutions, Inc. (“TOMI”) (OTCQX:TOMZ), a
global provider of infection prevention and decontamination products, services and research, including SteraMist™, a
hydrogen peroxide-based mist and fog registered as Binary Ionization Technology® (BIT™) with
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) for use as a hospital-healthcare disinfectant, and general disinfectant,
including C. diff, h1n1, norovirus, salmonella and MRSA, announced today that its SteraMist™
distribution partner in England, Westbury Decontamination, recently completed a decontamination service job at one of the
facilities of the Metropolitan Police Service (the Met). This agency is the territorial police force responsible for law
enforcement in Greater London, and also has significant national responsibilities, such as coordinating and leading on UK-wide
national counter-terrorism matters, protecting senior members of the British Royal Family, in addition to members of The Cabinet
and other ministerial members of Her Majesty's Government.
In 2017, Westbury was granted non-exclusive rights to distribute the full suite of TOMI products and this recent
service job at the Met was one of many opportunities where SteraMist™ proved to be the most reliable and time sensitive
decontamination method currently on the market. In this case, when an unidentified biological risk of contamination was discovered
at the Lambeth Police Station, one of the territory’s most prestigious and expensive police facilities, Westbury was brought in to
provide decontamination services.
The treatment was originally planned as a three day event, taking the facility out of action and having a significant impact on
critical works. However, by using the SteraMist™ decontamination system, Westbury was able to reduce the total time to just one
day. Work was performed after hours and by using Protak’s Rapid Decontamination Validation technology, Westbury was also able to
validate the decontamination performance in real time on site. This allowed the facility to return to operational status with the
knowledge that, in this case, a minimum of Log 8.2 reduction was achieved. Westbury saved the facility time and money while
offering validated decontamination services.
A Westbury spokesperson stated, “We were proud of our success. The facility team shared that Westbury and SteraMist™ with its
iHP™ technology did a great job, and outperformed all other potential contractors in terms of speed and performance.”
Dr. Halden Shane, CEO of TOMI Environmental Solutions, stated, “The success of any business comes down to the quality of your
products. There are no other products on the market that offer decontamination and validation like Steramist and Protak. I love the
fact that we can represent this combination of products along with our end-users that appreciate the time and monies we save them
as a result of our decontamination process for their companies.”
