Nanotech Receives Accolades for M2 at Banknote Conference 2018

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Nanotech Security Corp. (TSXV:NTS) (OTCQX:NTSFF) (“Nanotech” or the “Company”), a leading innovator in the research, creation and production of nano-optic structures and colour-shifting materials used in authentication and brand enhancement, received glowing reviews for its breakthrough security feature product M2 at the May 23rd evening reception of the Banknote Conference 2018.

Nanotech hosted over 200 representatives which included designers, technical experts, policy makers and issuing authorities. Attendees remarked on visual effects that were “striking and compelling” and an impact that was “clear and unambiguous”. Those attendees with a production background were additionally impressed with M2’s incredibly thin profile of less than five microns and its ease of integration into established printing processes on the full range of banknote substrates.

M2 is Nanotech’s first commercial product based on the Company’s patented KolourOptik® technology where the Company manufactures and delivers a complete product to the banknote industry.  M2 seamlessly pairs striking “multi-colour” images with “multi-dimensional movement”. These interactive features are viewable from many angles and instinctively encourage a user to maneuver and tilt the banknote.  Using nano-structure origination, these unique security elements do not rely on micro-lenses, micro-mirrors or inks.  M2 is exceptionally thin and suitable to multiple application processes on all substrates.

Offering an unprecedented blend of trust, confidence, and creative freedom to banknote designers and producers alike, Nanotech’s overt features combine movement, animation and colour-shift elements to create effects that are intuitive and impactful in a single security feature. The Company’s overt features are complimented by a range of covert and forensic features tailored to meet the specific needs of the currency end-customer.

“We appreciate the excellent feedback received on M2, the first commercial banknote product employing our patented KolourOptik technology.” said Nanotech CEO Doug Blakeway.  “We can produce M2 in formats and qualities that can be applied to all banknote substrates.”  Nanotech encourages all stakeholders in the banknote industry to view M2 here and contact us directly for further information.

About Nanotech

Nanotech researches, creates and produces nano-optic structures and colour shifting materials used in authentication and brand enhancement applications across a wide range of markets including banknotes, tax stamps, secure government documents, commercial branding, and the pharmaceutical industry.

The Company’s nano-optic technology employs arrays of billions of nano-indentations that are impressed or embossed onto a substrate material such as polymer, paper, metal, or fabric.  By using sophisticated algorithms to direct an electron beam lithography system, the Company creates visual images with colour shifting effects such as 3D, perceived movement, and can also display high-definition colours including skin tones, and whites and blacks, which are not possible using holographic technology.
