- More ways to shop in-store and online
- New ways to 'click-and-collect', including first-of-its kind Self-Serve Pick-Up Tower in Canada
- No hassle in-store pick-up in less than a minute
TORONTO, Oct. 31, 2018 /CNW/ - Canadian Tire announced today
new eCommerce solutions that put customer convenience at the heart of online shopping.
Canadian Tire is the first-ever Canadian retailer to put into market new, automated, 16-foot Self-Serve Pick-Up Towers at five
locations across the country in Vancouver, Calgary,
Saskatoon and Toronto. As of last week, customers at these
locations have been enjoying the convenience of collecting their online purchases in less than a minute using the new Self-Serve
Pick-Up Towers.
In another clear demonstration of Canadian Tire's commitment to customer convenience, the Ottawa area will see two new ways to pick-up online purchases. The Company is introducing a fleet of
self-serve lockers and automated check-in terminals. To use the check-in terminals, customers can simply enter a unique PIN code
on the in-store tablet, prompting store staff to bring their order directly to them. These new in-store options will make the
online order pick-up faster and more convenient.
"We're a test and learn culture and a big part of that is finding new ways to help our customers shop when they want and how
they want," said Greg Hicks, President, Canadian Tire Retail. "We're very excited to be the first
retailer in Canada to introduce the Self-Serve Pick-Up Towers to some of our busiest stores as
one more example of how we're meeting our customers' evolving needs."
These new additions to Canadian Tire's eCommerce offerings follow a recent rollout of nationwide ship-to-home and the launch
of Triangle Rewards™, Canadian Tire's loyalty and credit card program that has already experienced significant customer adoption
and growth.
