American Hotel Income Properties Completes US$4.2 Million of Renovations at Two of its Larger All-Suite Hotels

VANCOUVER, Feb. 1, 2019 /CNW/ - American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP ("AHIP", the "Company") (TSX: HOT.UN, TSX: HOT.U, TSX: HOT.DB.U) is pleased to announce that it has substantially completed approximately US$4.2 million of renovations at two hotels this week: the 100-room Staybridge Suites Tampa East (in Tampa, Florida) and the 131-room Residence Inn Baltimore White Marsh (in Baltimore, Maryland).

"We're very pleased to have two more hotel renovations completed," said John O'Neill, CEO. "Both these properties underwent extensive renovations to reflect the very latest brand standards and are expected to significantly enhance our guests' experience and comfort at these properties."

Approximately US$2.3 million of renovations were completed at the Staybridge Suites Tampa East, where the hotel underwent a full renovation of guestrooms, public areas and the exterior.  Guestrooms were updated with new carpet, sofas, furniture, beds, lighting and window treatments.  All suites also received new kitchen amenities and appliances, and new bathroom flooring and fixtures.  In the public areas, the lobby was updated with all new furniture and an expanded breakfast area with a new "Gathering Table" seating concept.  In addition, all guest corridors and meeting rooms were renovated and the fitness center was updated, including new fitness center equipment.  The exterior of the hotel was also modernized with a new colour scheme, updated signage and enhanced "outdoor living" spaces, where guests can relax during their stay.

Approximately US$1.9 million of renovations were also completed at the Residence Inn Baltimore White Marsh, where hotel guestrooms and corridors were renovated to bring the property up to the very latest Marriott design concept.  The guestroom renovations included new carpets, seating and window treatments, upgraded kitchens and bathrooms, as well as new artwork and lighting.
