Nova Bus continues to invest in its growth, innovation and technology with the support of the Government of Canada

MONTREAL , June 8, 2021 /CNW Telbec/ - Nova Bus, a division of the Volvo Group and a leading North American transit bus manufacturer, is pleased to announce further investments into its journey towards electromobility, modernization of its manufacturing facilities and processes. In support of this Transformation Project, the Government of Canada will, through the Strategic Innovation Fund , make a financial contribution of $15 million toward a total investment of $184.8 million .

The investment includes the upgrade of the company's Québec manufacturing facilities in Saint-Eustache and Saint-François-du-Lac and the introduction of innovative energy-efficient processes and digital technologies to increase operational efficiency. In addition, this will strengthen the company's research and development abilities towards zero emission transit buses. The Government of Canada's contribution will support Nova Bus' Transformation Project and electrification strategy, which began in 2017. The plant modernization phase began in the fall of 2020 with the expansion of the Saint-François-du-Lac facility and the addition of manufacturing capability in the Saint-Eustache area.
