Avanti Gold Corporation (AGC) welcomes Dr. Colin Porter to the role of new CEO as of the 1st of May.
Dr. Colin Porter is a geologist with over 25 years’ experience in exploration, project management and applied structural geology across Africa.
Previously, Dr. Porter worked as a Structural Geologist for Anglogold Ashanti, Africa Region with extensive experience in the Birimian craton of West Africa, including planning and implementation of deposit scale and brownfields exploration at several of Africa’s largest mines including.
In additIon, he was also the head of exploration and managed all exploration activities at the Zani-Kodo gold project in NE DR Congo.
As for schooling, Dr. Porter holds a BSc (Hons) in geology from Queen’s University Belfast, a Ph.D. in geology from University of Southampton and is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Dr. Porter is replacing Tony Louie, who is the former interim CEO. However, Tony Louie will continue to serve as a member on the board of directors.
Avanti Gold is a mineral exploration company working on a Tier-1 gold opportunity in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Misisi Gold Project has a contained inferred mineral resource of 3 million ounces of gold.
