Playgon Games Inc. (TSXV:DEAL) has been granted a license by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

This is the regulatory agency responsible for the oversight of the modern open and regulated iGaming and sports betting market in Ontario. The license will allow the company to supply the provincially approved iGaming and sports betting operators with its mobile focused live dealer platform from its broadcasting studio in Las Vegas.

The company intends to move ahead and partner with iGaming operators in this regulated jurisdiction and introduce its mobile focused live dealer technology, VegasLounge, to Ontario players.

In 2023 alone, iGaming Ontario reported that people in the province wagered C$35.6 billion in the market’s inaugural year. This resulted in roughly C$1.4 billion in total gaming revenue.

Playgon Games’ president and CEO, Darcy Krogh, called receiving this supplier license for Ontario another major milestone for the company.

“Not only is it our first entrance into North America for our mobile first live dealer technology, we have significant interest for our product in this market that we will announce in due course. Ontario has quickly become among the top 5 iGaming jurisdictions in North America and live dealer tables accounted for 32 per cent of the revenue generated within the online casino vertical which makes it a very attractive market for us to pursue,” Krogh said in a statement.

Playgon Games Inc. is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology company that focuses on developing and licensing digital content for the growing iGaming market.

Playgon Games Inc. opened trading at $0.06 per share and was more than 9 per cent higher by midday.
