Falcon Gold (TSXV:FG) announced assay results from its Moose Mountain project in southern Newfoundland.
In a news release, the Vancouver-based company stated it had identified a range of anomalies from rock samples, most notably lithium and rare earth elements.
“The rare earth elements (REE) and lithium potential of this new area came as a total surprise as something which has us even more excited especially as the markets and government attitudes start to shift and recognizing the role of REEs, critical minerals, will have to play in the new economy,” Karim Rayani, CEO of Falcon Gold, said in a statement. “We look forward to even more exciting results as we return to the Moose Mountain area this fall for follow-up detailed investigations.”
Other key findings include:
- copper-anomaly
- anomalous gold-arsenic
- multiple tungsten and molybdenite anomalies
Falcon Gold said the key objective of the program was to investigate the lithium potential of the property through prospecting over different priority target areas previously identified in 2022 by the company.
In total, 149 rock samples were collected and then submitted to Eastern Analytical for review. A key highlight from the samples include 22.1 per cent of results that were deemed anomalous for lithium, with the highest lithium returning 215ppm.
Falcon Gold is focused on generating, acquiring and exploring opportunities across the Americas. Its flagship project is the Central Canada Gold Mine.
Shares of Falcon Gold are unchanged at C$0.02.
