Aurora Cannabis launches strain within its veterans' portfolio

  • This is the second offering from Aurora’s Strain for Heroes portfolio
  • Five per cent of profits of sale from the product line will be used to support veteran organizations in Canada
  • Shares of Aurora Cannabis are down 4.55 per cent to C$0.63 as of 10:18 am ET

Aurora Cannabis (TSX:ACB, NASDAQ:ACB) has launched a new cannabis strain for veterans under its Strain for Heroes portfolio.

In a news release, the Canadian cannabis producer said the new product called Honour is the second offering from its veterans portfolio.

“We’re deeply committed to supporting Canadian veterans, and proud that we are able to provide a personal experience to our patients by identifying the cannabis products that will best serve their needs and preferences,” Mike Jones, SVP of medical sales at Aurora Cannabis, said in a statement.

Honour will be available under Aurora Cannabis’ MedReleaf brand and was selected with direct input from Canadian veterans.

Roughly five per cent of sale proceeds from the Strain of Heroes product line are being used to support veteran-focused organizations and clinics across Canada, including: Wounded Warriors, The Post Traumatic Growth Association, The Valhalla Project and Quilts of Valour, among others.

Aurora Cannabis is headquartered out of Edmonton and has a wide range of adult-use brands under its portfolio, including Aurora Drift, San Rafael ’71, Daily Special, Whistler, Being and Greybeard.

The company’s medical cannabis brands include MedReleaf, CanniMed, Aurora and Whistler Medical Marijuana Co.

Shares of Aurora Cannabis are down 4.55 per cent to C$0.63 as of 10:18 am ET.
