Patriot Battery Metals (TSXV:PMET) has won the 2023 “Discovery of the Year” award from the Québec Mineral Exploration Association (QMEA).

The award was presented to the Vancouver-based company at the QMEA’s 2023 Xplor Convention in recognition by industry peers for its discovery of the CV5 Spodumene Pegmatite at its wholly owned Corvette Project, which is in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Québec.

The Corvette Project is highlighted by the CV5 Spodumene Pegmatite, which is host to a maiden mineral resource estimate of 109.2 metric tons at 1.42 per cent Li2O inferred and ranks as the largest lithium pegmatite resource in the Americas based on contained lithium carbonate equivalent, and one of the top 10 largest lithium pegmatite resources in the world.

The Xplor Convention is one of the mining industry’s most prominent events in the province, and brings together exploration and mining companies, their exploration and development teams and key service providers.

“This achievement underscores their commitment to exploration excellence, thoroughness, and a creative approach to mineral exploration,” the company’s president and CEO, Blair Way, said in a news release. “Their dedication to advancing our industry while upholding the highest standards of exploration sets a remarkable example for all of us. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire Patriot Battery Metals team on this outstanding accomplishment.”

Patriot Battery Metals Inc. opened trading at C$9.00 per share and its stock has risen 80.73 per cent over the past year.
