FendX Technologies (CSE:FNDX) has announced a partnership with McMaster University to advance the development of a spray nanotechnology.

In a news release, the Oakville, Ontario-based company stated that McMaster University submitted an application for a Natural Sciences and Engineering Council (NSERC) Alliance grant with FendX as the industry sponsor.

Should the grant from the NSERC Alliance be awarded, it will help advance funding for the spray nanotechnology, including scale-up and testing as FendX continues to pursue the development of a commercial spray product to protect high-touch surfaces from contamination and curb the spread of pathogens.

“If granted, this would mark the second NSERC Alliance grant received by McMaster with FendX as the industry sponsor,” Carolyn Myers, CEO of FendX Technologies, said in a statement. “The initial grant, awarded in May 2022, supports the development and scale-up of our innovative product REPELWRAP film.”

The REPELWRAP film is aprotective surface coating film that prevents the adhesion of pathogens and reduces their transmission on surfaces prone to contamination. It is currently being developed to protect high-touch surfaces in healthcare and other high-traffic public touchpoints.

The company’s most recent announcement comes after a collaboration with Dunmore International to continue to advance optimization of the manufacturing process to produce intermediate-sized REPELWRAP film with another pilot manufacturing run.

FendX Technologies is a nanotechnology company focused on developing products to make people’s lives safer by reducing the spread of pathogens.

Shares of FendX Technologies (CSE:FNDX) are up 3.23 per cent to C$0.32 as of 11:30 am ET.
