Baylin Technologies (TSX:BYL) subsidiary, Advantech Wireless Technologies, has received a C$1 million order for two amplifier systems destined for NASA’s Artemis moon exploration program.

Advantech‘s solid-state, high-power amplifier systems will form part of a cislunar communications network, an essential component in the program‘s goal of establishing the conditions required for humanity to live and work on the moon.

The news follows the subsidiary’s C$655,000 contract, announced in April 2024, to supply Artemis with amplifiers to segregate its near-space operations – between Earth’s surface and 2 million kilometres out – from its deep-space operations.

Leadership insights

“This is another example of Advantech securing a viable position within the moon exploration community,” John Restivo, president of Advantech, said in a statement. “Our special-frequency amplifiers are being ordered and shipped to locations around the globe to support near space network requirements, including NASA’s lunar exploration ground sites network.”

“Advantech has done an excellent job of creating differentiated solutions for the satellite communications market,” said Leighton Carroll, Baylin Technologies’ chief executive officer. “In this case, Advantech amplifiers will play a key role in powering communication for the NASA Artemis lunar space program. I look forward to seeing continued momentum in our support of the broader space segment.”
