In the last two editions of “Buzz”, we reported that Stockhouse investors had been broadening their sectors of interest. This meant that the cannabis companies have not been dominating discussions to the same degree as has been often seen over the past several months.

Over the past week though (April 4 – 10), cannabis is once again at the top of the list in discussions within the Stockhouse Community. It’s no great surprise to see Aurora Cannabis Inc. (TSX: ACB, OTCQB: ADBFF, Forum) once again leading the way with 112,599 reads. ACB has a very strong hub at Stockhouse, and its Bullboard has frequently topped the rankings in recent months.

On April 11, 2018; Aurora announced that the Company has finalized an agreement with Société des alcools du Quebec (SAQ). This is the government-run corporation that currently retails a large percentage of the alcohol products sold in Quebec. The agreement between Aurora and SAQ stipulates that Aurora will supply SAQ “with a wide variety of premium products” for distribution in Quebec’s recreational cannabis market (once recreational sales have been officially authorized).

Given this major news, expect Aurora’s Bullboard reads to soar even higher next week. However, Aurora is not the only cannabis company with a large following that has significant news. Right behind Aurora last week in the overall Bullboard rankings is Isodiol International Inc. (CSE: ISOL, OTCQB: ISOLF, Forum). What’s the news with ISOL?

At the moment, we don’t know. Isodiol was halted by the CSE on April 10, 2018, and (as of this writing) the Company remains halted. As the ISOL Bullboard heats up, stay tuned for further news. As we look at today’s Bullboard leaders, we see ISOL in top spot with Aurora sitting in the #3 position.

We’ve also recently added a new Stockhouse “Investor Pulse Poll” on the homepage (bottom, right). The question?

Over the next 60 days, how do you expect cannabis/marijuana related stocks to perform?

  • They will rise
  • They will fall
  • I don’t know

Add your own feedback to this poll. Next week on Buzz on the Bullboards, we will publish the results.

Elsewhere on the Stockhouse Bullboards, from April 4 – 10, there wasn’t a great deal of noteworthy activity. In the Metals and Mining rankings, Stockhouse favorite, Nemaska Lithium Inc. rose from the #3 slot to #1 position.

In our Healthcare group, while a couple of last week’s leaders (Prometic Life Sciences and Antibe Therapeutics) saw their reads drop off substantially this week, the Bullboard for Neovasc Inc. (TSX: NVCN, OTCQB: NVCN, Forum) saw its numbers over the past week triple, moving this company into the #3 position in the Healthcare rankings.

This isn’t necessarily a positive. Sentiment has been weak on the NVCN Bullboard as its stock has dropped off substantially from $0.84 on January 22, 2018 down to $0.07 as of today.

Cannabis stocks are still commanding a lot of investor attention, even as valuations have cooled off over the past several weeks. Obviously one of the central topics being discussed on Bullboards (individually) is “what comes next?”

Next week, Buzz will give you the collective answer to this question based on the feedback we receive from the Community. For Stockhouse, we’re always interested to learn about which direction investor sentiment is leaning. For investors, the results of this poll may help you decide whether now is the time to deploy more of your dollars.
