OSI Geospatial (TSX: T.OSI, Stock Forum; 35 cents)
Earlier this year I featured OSI a couple times (in the high teens) to Stockhouse readers. The stock has now produced a gain in the range of 100% and while this is still a very good company, I personally feel its approaching fair value at 40 cents and it’s unlikely we would have further coverage this year.
Colombian Mines (TSX: V.CMJ, Stock Forum; 85 cents)
www.colombianmines.com
Colombia is one of the hottest regions right now for mineral exploration and with gold now holding near $1300, the turnout expected at the big International Mining show (October 6/7/8) in Medellin will be strong. This year in particular, they will likely see a significant turnout from fund and hedge managers looking for high quality gold, silver, and copper exploration projects. In addition, the major mining companies and overseas investors will be there looking for joint venture partners and financing opportunities. For CMJ this could be the most important event of 2010 for them. The stock has good liquidity in the 80-cent range and a person may want to look at it before this weekend when the show starts.
Rodinia Lithium (TSX: V.RM, Stock Forum; 35 cents)
www.rodiniaminerals.com
Rodinia recently released more impressive numbers from their lithium and potash project in Argentina. Not only are the grades of lithium and potash well above some of the best producers in South America, but they just expanded the known resource by 1.5 km to 4.0 km. Previously they announced preliminary grades and the fact the aquifer is at least 120 metres deep. Combined with a deposit they now know is at least 4 km long, and you have the makings of a large and (potentially) very economic lithium/potash mine. The sector itself is quiet (we have seen a few big rallies the past couple years), but if it turns around, this stock will do very well.
Disclosure: Danny Deadlock owns 20,000 shares of Colombian Mines (TSX: V.CMJ) and 30,000 Rodinia Lithium (TSX: V.RM) – all purchased in the open market. Previously owned shares of OSI were sold in August.
