Kootenay Silver Inc. (TSX: V.KTN, Stock Forum) has two projects – Its flagship Promontorio and its brand new exciting discovery story La Negra. I’m going to be writing quite a bit about Kootenay over the next little while, it really is a heck of a story and a well-run company with what appears are two homerun projects.

Promotorio - The updated Measured and Indicated resource contains an estimated 92,035,000 oz AgEq with another 24,326,000 oz AgEq categorized as Inferred is a silver/gold/lead/zinc (silver is roughly 40% of the resource) open pit/underground project while La Negra is a from surface open pit high grade silver project.

The La Negra Phase I drill program totaled 25 HQ diameter core holes with 3173.5 meters of drilling. All holes have been reported and significant grades of widespread silver mineralization extending from surface to depth, confirm a substantial new silver discovery.

In the first phase drill program there were 25 holes drilled into La Negra, results were extremely impressive.

Phase I Highlights include:

  • LN 01-14 Containing from surface;
    • 110.46 gpt Ag over 41 meters including
    • 223.23 gpt Ag over 13 meters
  • LN 02-14 Containing from surface;
  • 141.28 gpt Ag over 50 meters including
  • 212.64 gpt Ag over 28 meters and
  • 323.13 gpt Ag over 15 meters
  • 82.57 gpt Ag over 144 meters including
  • 98 gpt Ag over 106 meters and
  • 195.84 gpt Ag over 25 meters
  • 92.98 gpt Ag over 92 meters including;
  • 149.43 gpt Ag over 20 meters from surface and
  • 146.38 gpt Ag over 31 meters from 43 meter depth
  • 91 gpt Ag over 119 meters including
  • 182.87 gpt Ag over 40 meters
  • 367.85 gpt Ag over 14 meters
  • 92.79 gpt Ag over 98 meters including
  • 168.33 gpt Ag over 21 meters including
  • 214.3 gpt Ag over 13 meters
  • 132.49 gpt Ag over 59 meters including
  • 149.6 gpt Ag over 43 meters and
  • 185.35 gpt Ag over 17 meters
  • 91.89 gpt Ag over 49 meters including
  • 251 gpt Ag over 11 meters
  • 87.08 gpt Ag over 35 meters including
  • 135.52 gpt Ag over 21 meters
  • 61.43 gpt Ag over 140 meters including
  • 79 gpt Ag over 47 meters and
  • 355.16 gpt Ag over 8 meters
  • 156.47 gpt Ag over 200 meters including
  • 420.34 gpt Ag over 50 meters from 150 to 200 meters including
  • 1337.66 gpt Ag over 6 meters and
  • 492.30 gpt Ag over 17 meters at the bottom of the hole excl. the 6 meters of 1337 gpt Ag interval
  • 265.31 gpt Ag including over 34 meters including
  • 467.77 gpt Ag over 18 meters
  • 239.92 gpt Ag over 30 meters including
  • 459.76 gpt Ag over 13 meters
  • 92.88 gpt Ag over 76 meters including
  • 397.83 gpt Ag over 12 meters
  • LN 03-14 Bottomed in mineralized breccia in a vertical hole from surface;
  • LN 04-14 Containing from surface;
  • LN 05-14 Containing from surface;
  • LN 06-14 Containing from surface and bottomed in mineralized breccia;
  • LN 07-14 Containing from surface;
  • LN 08-14 Containing from 13 meter depth;
  • LN 10-14 Containing from 5 meters;
  • LN 13-14 Containing from surface;
  • LN 21-14 Containing from surface and bottomed in mineralization;
  • LN 22-14 Containing from surface
  • LN 23-14 Containing from surface;
  • LN 24-14 from surface on section with LN 22 and 23-14;

Drill Hole LN 21-14 is spectacular. As a matter of fact there isn’t one underground narrow vein silver miner in the world who wouldn’t drool over, and move heaven and earth, to mine those grades. We have them in an open pit from surface!

Mr. Hans Smit, P.Geo has been hired to assist in quickly advancing the La Negra discovery to a resource calculation on completion of the second drill program anticipated to begin early in the New Year.

The drill rig is in place, the camp is being set up. Drilling should start in a second phase two program shortly.

How much more tonnage do you need to recognize something special is being drilled here? This is going to be a much coveted deposit, two groups have already visited, more are heading to the project.

Attention is being paid to this project, it’s a low cost near surface pure silver project that has built up an incredible resource very quickly, and there’s much more to come in your authors opinion.

Every miner in Mexico has this on their radar screen, which means we should as well.

Conclusion

I’ve already calculated a 15-20 million oz silver resource just from the first 25 drill holes roughly 3000 meters of drilling.

Is Kootenay Silver TSX.V – KTN on your screen?

If it isn’t, maybe it should be.
