- New respect: Dachang for Inter-Citic (ICI)
- More respect: Great Basin Gold (GBG)
- And more: Premium Ex in Idaho
- Looking at Pediment’s promise (PEZ)
Several Planetary Prospects of this service (11 exist) are receiving fresh respect this week.
Inter-Citic Minerals (TSX: T.ICI, Stock Forum), after revealing a potent (step-out) drill hole at Dachang in eastern China, is finally shedding its 70-cent past with authority. See the results. CEO Jim Moore and his team are in China, discussing a potential partnership with a China miner/prospector.
Great Basin Gold (TSX: T.GBG, Stock Forum) shares are outpacing comparable gold miners with operations in Nevada and South Africa. The company tells me it is producing gold with its freshly-scrubbed mill at Hollister in Nevada. GBG shares have long lagged proper valuation for the several hundred thousand ounces of annual gold that will be pulled from Hollister each year, starting about now.
Premium Exploration (TSX: V.PEM, Stock Forum) in Idaho tells me the drills are working. As with most of our Planetary Prospects, I have seen the Idaho property and expect new CEO and geologist Wilf Struck to fulfill the potential of what likely will be a producing mine with vast and verifiable gold resources in the coming two years.
Finally, Avanti Mining (TSX: V.AVT, Stock Forum) is making headway in bringing its Kitsault molybdenum mine toward production. CEO Craig Nelsen and CFO AJ Ali are trawling Asia for partners, hiring project managers such as heavyweight Kenneth Collison of Thompson Creek (see Ticker Trax earlier this week in archives) and preparing for the London listing of moly futures in February. Avanti shares, of which I own many, sell for a sliver of the value of the moly at surface and beneath Kitsault. The numbers are all in previous issues of this service. I expect the shares to triple or quadruple in coming months from their current 21 cents a share. Avanti Mining, like all of the Planetary Prospects of this service with the exception of Candente Resources (TSX: T.DNT, Stock Forum), sells for well above their inclusion price in this Ticker Trax service.
On the speculative side: These are companies I will be visiting or have become aware of. I own none of them … and none of them are Planetary Prospects of this service. One of them, Pediment Gold (TSX: T.PEZ, Stock Forum), is on my short list as a Planetary Prospect. Another, Animas Resources (TSX: VANI, Stock Forum), appears worthy as a company whose shares I intend to purchase soon – ahead of drill results. Both those companies operate in Mexico.
- Houston Lake Mining (TSX:: V.HLM, Stock Forum): A 25-cent stock with a market worth of less than $10 million. The Ontario operator has at least eight moving parts to its gold and platinum prospecting aspirations. The company tells me Wednesday that new drilling at the Dubenski Gold Project will fill in some of the missing pieces of the data puzzle between the shaft zone and the central zone. The company also is anticipating a drill-bit or two on deep targets – always a good idea in northern Ontario, “where geology suggests when you go deep u can get the high grades,” the company says.
- Colombia Mining (TSX: V.CMJ, Stock Forum): I am set to see the property in Antioquia Department in Colombia this coming weekend. The shares – fewer than 20 million of them – sell for 60 cents Canadian. This is a moon shot. I do not own the stock. Robert and Gloria Carrington run the homespun company.
- Several subscribers have beenalerting me about developments at Tyhee Development (TSX: V.TDC, Stock Forum). The Yellowknife operator in the NW Territories of Canada, oh Canada. Tyhee’s revised estimate for its Yellowknife Gold Project amounted to an almost 40 percent gain of its indicated resource at Clan Lake’s main zone. I do not own the shares, which have about doubled here in short order.
- Oremex (TSX: V.ORM, Stock Forum): This tiny thing in Mexico’s Durango state is attempting to salvage a ravaged ejido community by previous ownership. John Carlesso and Grant Hall, whom I shall see in Colombia, have been working on this silver situation for about a year or more. If they succeed in mending fences, the shares rise 10-fold from their current 16 cents. Oremex just raised a half-million Canadian dollars this week on the promise of a silver resource that could contain 40 million or more ounces.
- New security Sandspring Resources (TSX: V.SSP, Stock Forum) is selling for 91 cents a share in Canada, up from a 35-cent seedling price. That was a gift from Guyana. (Please see Thom Calandra coverage of Toroparu.) Based on the resource at the Guyana property, the John Adams family and Abraham Drost-led team easily will see the IPO travel upwards of $1.50 a share in coming weeks – if fair value means anything measured as GOIG, or Gold In Ground. Please see: More from Thom.
- Gary Freeman and Mel Herdrick’s Pediment Gold (TSX: T.PEZ, Stock Forum) – it is all here and sent first to Ticker Trax subscribers during the past several weeks since our Baja, Mexico visit. The shares are reflecting the company’s sealed deals with ejido surface rights owners. Thom Calandra report here. The company’s managers, including CEO Gary Freeman, confirmed the new pacts in a press release. We here at Ticker Trax are considering the company as a 12th Planetary Prospect. I have yet to see La Colorada project on the Mexico mainland.
- Animas Resources (TSX: V.ANI, Stock Forum): We expect drill results soon for a Mexico property at Santa Gertrudis that could become an entire gold district. This is the only speculative mention that I have an intention of purchasing … but have yet to do so. (I own no Sandspring Resources and … no Pediment Gold. Pediment, if it becomes a Planetary Prospect, would enter my portfolio …. but only after I alert subscribers several times.) More on Animas: Thom’s report.

I have great interest right now in exploring several nations -- Ghana, Mexico, Peru, Haiti, Indonesia and my beloved Colombia. They are all primed. I am headed to Colombia and Peru later this week: see itinerary at your leisure.
