RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Wow. A couple point on my view of ANS.
ive been with ANS since 2001.
I don't remember ANS hitting $35. The highest it got was ~$22. It shows $35 because of the stock dilution and consolidation in 2007-8. I think it was 3:1 and we got a whack of warrants. (caveat: i can't remember exact numbers)
The big downfall for ANS then was this purchase
https://www.iatp.org/news/potlatch-agrees-to-sell-minnesota-oriented-strand-board-facilities-to-ainsworth-lumber-co-ltd-f
they bought two mills for 1/2 Billion $ that had a book value of 180M. After the crash, the mills were closed permanently.
Alot of people wouldnt touch them after that deal.
I stuck with ANS cause i like their product, for reason stated before about making osb from beetle killed tree etc.
The reason im sticking with OSB instead of lumber is that anyone can make lumber. All you need is a saw.
I was part of the engineering firm that built the ANS's Barwick OSB mill (then Voyager). The concrete pad that the press sits on, has so much concrete and rebar that we had to build a concrete plant on site. The is ALOT more to an OSB mill than a saw mill IMO.
Sure, lumber might make bigger gains but people will need OSB to cover that lumber so we are a niche market.
With our new balance sheet and management, we are going to make positive gains.
