Strong close yesterday and strong market this morning yet no real push to the upside.  Not good signs for a stock to move upward.
Comment by funthatsfree@yahoo.ca on Apr 10, 2013 2:08pm
With may 15 still over a month away, no real urgency to buy!
Comment by PAGODA5 on Apr 10, 2013 2:25pm
Excuses won't make you money.  Stocks that have legs move up on days like today and yesterday.  Not seeing it here.

66K in shares waiting to buy at $4.  Maybe, just maybe we are finding a base there.

I guess we shall see how this market behaves without the quantitative easing.  Fed seems ready to end the bond buying.  I expect much tighter markets going forward.

try 2015 , they are using 6.5% unemployment for a gage

4 posts in one day on a stock you sold out of. That reeks of desperation. ANS is making $400,000 a day right now. Only a fool would sell.

Desperation?...I trade stocks and watch charts, I have some time on my hands.  And I did say I was looking to get back in.  I want to see some traction in the pricing.   They may be making tons of money but the stock is not behaving like they are.  On a day like today, when other lumber and hosuing stocks were moving significantly higher, this stock tread water.  It is odd ...more

Comment by KevinKT on Apr 10, 2013 7:53pm
Though the stocks were down slightly today, the buying volume is actually positive on CFP BZH LEN NBD PHM WY  WOOD, though negative on HOV LPX, as I can see on https://www.effectivevolume.com/

CFP, IFP.A, CFF...NBD was down slightly today but has been on a tear the last couple of days.

Chart since  Feb 27th is pretty consistent.  It might even pull back a bit again.  The Fed is still printing, Lumber prices are at profitable levels demand is outpacing supply, Japan is just beginning and sales to China are increasing. Some mills are starting while others will take up to a year to come on line.    I'm I worried? ...more

Ainsworth does not make lumber, so lumber prices do not matter to Ainsworth. Ainsworth makes OSB.
Comment by whitewood on Apr 11, 2013 8:35am
True, Annsworth doesnt produce lumber but  both OSB and Lumber are closely related. Both are likely to move in the same direction WW
Comment by PAGODA5 on Apr 11, 2013 10:41am
I agree with you.  I would have liked to have seen a breakout during the last couple of strong days.  We just never got that.
Comment by whitewood on Apr 11, 2013 10:59am
As you well know, nothing happen the way we expect.. That`s the nature of the market. when you think it should go up it goes down.. cant win every day.!! WW
Comment by louel on Apr 11, 2013 11:22am
Correct ANS has been soley OSB since 2009 when they sold off their Lillooet & Savona  Plywood and Veneer Op's to Aspen Planers.  Previously selling their lumber mill and Timber Quota to West Fraser.   .    OSB has replaced and is prefferred over plywood and  lumber in many aplications.     OSB makes a ...more

Going up now.  Nice to see some price action to the upside!

breakout? ANS has been a steady leader in stock price appreciation in the last few months. All the investors on here are more than pleased with ANS performance. The only people who aren't pleased are the small day traders who buy small lots and look for ego appreciation. Look at these number over the past 3 months and tell me ANS is not a leader.
Comment by PAGODA5 on Apr 11, 2013 4:24pm
Listen, you were talking a few weeks ago about being a "value investor" and ready to walk away from ANS.  You clearly are the one seeking ego appreciation.  I simply looking for a stock that runs.  I was in ANS, I made money and now I am looking to make more.  If you dislike my posts, feel free to ignore me.   Go back to your value stocks.       ...more

While lumber and OSB prices in recent years have typically directionally moved the same, largely due to overall housing data, the magnitudes of the moves can be drastically different. For instance, in 2003 the year-over-year average OSB price was up over 80% while lumber was up less than 5%. And if you look in a larger historical context, average annual lumber and OSB prices have moved in opposite ...more
