UrbanBattery Technology The project focuses on the maximization of the energy density of a lithium-ion pack through the optimization of the structural design and components of a BP for a given cell form factor. In this sense the strategy is to increase the energy density by reducing the weight of the BP and vehicle skin structure while keeping structural integrity and easy assembly and manufacturing.


Power Efficiency The StarVolt prototype is powered by two electric motors and has a top speed up to 62 mph. The car’s photovoltaic panels minimize loss of energy caused by imperfect light conditions. If you need a longer range or if there isn’t enough sunlight, the StarVolt BIKE prototype also has a traditional foot pedals for self propulsion. StarVolt aims to addressing the development of EVs that can both meet the regulations of the classical M1 category of vehicles and the new regulations of Micro EVs vehicles (weighting less than 600kg before the installation of the battery pack and that can have a speed higher than 100km/h). This novel concept enables new business approaches. The design has aimed for the highest safety requirements, a low footprint and extremely low energy consumption making the vehicle ideal for most people’s needs in cities as well as on suburban roads.
