"Merger"

I'm a new member.  I'm also an AVF shareholder - big for me but not as big as some of you.  I bought my shares at an ACB of $5.28, for the dividends; which I need.  After reading all your postings, I think it's best to merge PCE, CHX & AVF, but with  AVF having the largest Spyglass ratio, not PCE.

Welcome aboard stooly. Wish more folks would join and express their concerns. Your post does have merit. My concern is that we Avenex shareholders seem to be the one's left paying the fiddler. Is not the whole idea of being a shareholder is to make money for ourselves, not to give it to someone else? If I had thought that PCE or CHX were such great investments, I would have bought ...more

Maybe a "bird in hand's better than two in the bush".  My comments were based on the two merger partners that are proposed [PCE & CHX], not what might be out there and better.  There could be better offers, but as of now we don't know - and time's running out.

Why is time running out? That may be the case with PCE and CHX, but AveneEx is in decent shape according  to a November 17,2012 report from Raymond James (the only analyst that covers AvenEx). This was before the Elbow River sale was realized, but they did estimate its value was between $70-80m. I don't see Parkland giving it back, so as Gary Dundas mentioned, we will have to take steps ...more

spot on kingscourt no rush at all - the balance sheet looks good at AVF. The situation at PCE is now significantly worse than when this joke of a deal was announced.  If a merger is to be considered the ratios have to be tweaked to reflect the current predicament of the three companies. Lets see Q4 and year end reports for Charger and Avenex - that way we can all make informed decisions ...more

Time maybe running out for PCE and CHX, but AVF has lots of time. What now needs to be done is for the BOD to start making changes with the Corporate management team.  Selling ER was a terrible idea but agreeing to give the money to Tom is even worse... Kherson

rad 10.... you really think that we will get those result before the vote?????? think about it..... if avf result are excellent.... and chx is the pits... we already know about pce result which were release to prompt their dissident share holder to think no alternative was possible.... do you seriously think that avf shareholder would vote for a merger base on the ratio presented in the ...more

"rad 10.... you really think that we will get those result before the vote??????"   not for a moment !  But wouldn't it be nice if things were transparent?
