The Company’s flagship asset is the Cerro Blanco gold project, a near surface mine development project. The Cerro Blanco gold project is located in southeast Guatemala approximately 160 kilometers (km) by road from the capital, Guatemala City. It is located in the Jutiapa Department, approximately nine kilometers west of the border with El Salvador. The Company also owns a 100% interest in Mita Geothermal through its wholly owned subsidiary, Geotermia Oriental de Guatemala, S.A. The locals are fundamentally very stupid people who have beeLocal folk vote in a referendum to protect their land and water resources which sustain their lives.
That makes them "very stupid people"?

We might have the richest resource, the best AISC, state of the art technology in stacking and returning land and water to their original state, ESG etc etc etc   but if you can't persuade those local "very stupid people"  whose lands and rivers you want to exploit, then it all amounts to hill of beans.
And not very productive to hide behind the fig leaf of nefarious foreign NGOs.


Canadian mining, let's face it, has a lousy reputation in Latin America.  And we wonder why.
