WHAT is going on?

Can somebody tell me why this has taken a 10% hit in the last few days?  It's more than just typical negative renewables sentiment; the others haven't been hit as bad.  I can't help but wonder if someone knows something I don't . . .

Only thing in the news besides the NEP debacle was an announcement that BAM is expanding their renewables jv with Axis in India. BEP participation not mentioned. This may have ticked off a few people in BEP?  Case in point from above, BN does a poor job of communicating rationale for certain activity and it breeds sentiment of distrust.  They have preached transparency for years and ...more

Thanks for your response Hoffbag, I read it with great interest.  I must admit some ignorance here, I haven't been following the renewable front as carefully as I should.  When you say NEP, I presume you mean NextEra Energy Partners, a company similar to BEP that has experienced some challenges lately.  If I understand things correctly, they would just contribute to the green ...more

I too have recollection of BPY and its possible that some holders are thinking this is a replay.  If so, it would be considerably embarassing to Brookfield.  Normally I am not too critical about the management,but I do question their ability to operate and generate traction with their spin off entities. BEP just had their investor day, with a very positive presentation (which I expect ...more

Thanks for your thoughts . . . I was about to pull the trigger today for more BEP, and backed off at the last minute . . . it still doesn't make sense to me.  It lost a total of 18% in three trading days, with no apparent reasoning behind it.  I think, for the time being, I'll keep my cash in my pocket.
