RE:HVI compared to XIVAugust 3rd was Civic Holiday in most of Canada's provinces. It was a Bank Holiday for all things CAD according to forexfactory.

Thus, August 3rd was not even a trading day for this ETF. The price did not change dramatically
between July 31st (Friday) and August 4th. (Tuesday)

Whatever chart you're looking at, maybe you got to see some weird "after hours" type of stuff or it was just erroneous data.
