RE:RE:Harvestthe jet stream finally moved out and the weather going forward over the next 2 weeks looks good for field drying down. The cold would have excellerated this so guess we'll see in a bit. x59 is a shorter variety that has tested well in Russia with fairly sever conditions. I believe I read some place that they can grow this variety starting it as a fall plant and take it through the winter as a young plant (I assume the snow cover gives it some protection) and get an early start on a crop next year, which would make it one impressive plant though I do this very thing with leaf lettuce in Ontario.
