OK, so long-time lurker, and first-time poster, you pick an odd time to pipe up and add to the conversation. You didnt feel compelled to comment at any other time over the past couple of months, when rumours were flying about illegal sales, license suspensions, license revocations, executive resignations, the share price dropped to 16 cents, etc., etc?
But yesterday, when the stock moved a whopping 3 cents, and a couple of people posted a couple of short comments, suddenly you're compelled to create an alias and offer your opinion to this board? Yeah, that makes sense. I think I can probably be forgiven if I find your timing a bit odd.
I don't really know what you're trying to imply...that I'm someone else posting under an alias or something?
Anyway, I just never cared to register for these forums and get involved in the discussions but I felt the need to say something when people were still hanging on to the hope of the license being reinstated and the company surviving after all this. Not only is it very unlikely after all the dirt that has surfaced, but after all the developments in the past month (resignations, layoffs etc.) the company has suffered such heavy losses that recovery is also very unlikely. I don't even know why you guys are still holding on hope for the license to be reinstated. Even if that happens it's a very long, hard, expensive road to recovery after that. And the people that were the driving force behind the company are no longer around! Who's going to push this boulder to the top of the mountain now?
My guess is that the interim executives running Ascent are working on making a deal to sell the company and save whatever they can for themselves and the shareholders. With all this talk about class action lawsuits (which I'm not even sure is valid), they're probably trying to get the best value they can to appease angry shareholders.
The reason for the price spike yesterday? It could just be that it's a new year, and the market is up a bit. Or a deal is in the works and some information has leaked out, either on Ascent's side, or the buyer's side, or both. If any good news was coming on the Health Canada front there wouldn't be a leak about it to cause a price spike. Last time Ascent received notice from HC they halted the stock right away. It's been a couple days now and no halt so they aren't sitting on big news from HC.
