RE:RE:RE:RE:OILS update is coming.... I think we need to take what is told to us in terms of TIMELINES with a grain of salt. I don't mean this to say that the company is being untruthful or dishonest at all. I mean to say that they consistently are not meeting the timeline goals that they themselves are setting to shareholders.
Examples mostly include when deals should be available. We were told in December that we should have it in January. Then February, then delays occurred and the deals came out in the spring (which turned out to be non revenue supply deals). A lot of us here on SH talk off the board, so we are aware that a deal was promised in August; then September, now we are waiting for both the update and a deal.
I do not think the company is knowingly playing us. To me, they seem genuinely optimistic about their outlook (more so then the usual sell job that companies give investors). Also, their strategic vision and business plan seem sound and efficient. However, their inability to accurately predict timelines is leading to false hope and expectations that are frankly not being met. This leads to a lack of credibility and the resentment that we are sensing now.
I fully understand that a new legal industry such as Cannabis has a lot of moving parts and can be difficult to predict. Things happen. But, I think if promises are going to be made - then they have to be met - or not made in the first place. The current risk is that this update will be released full of optimism for 2021, and few investors will truly beleive that it will happen - or happen on time.
Trust and belief is a very important aspect to investing - at least for me. In his conference call to the Chinese investment community Paul stated that he is "looking forward to signing deals with the top companies in the industry in the next few months". Usually I would have been ecstatic to hear that - but my honest reaction was that I cringed. I hope he is right, but if he doesn't deliver on that - what then? It is easy to go back in time to watch these videos to see what was delivered and what wasnt.
I really like the business plan and the efficient model, that's why I have invested big. But an inability to deliver on timelines that they themselves give is an obvious red flag. At some point we need to be able to factor in the time it takes for contract completion and signing etc when expressing timelines to investors.
