Anyone understand the income tax entry?

Anyone understand the income tax entry?PLTH is profitable before tax but their income tax expense pushes them to a loss.  The MDA says "US Federal tax legislation denies the deduction of certain expenditures that would otherwise be available to non-cannabis businesses".  It also refers to note 18 of the Dec YE for further detail but that isn't any more clear.
