new investor here
I started on here around 2.14, havent done all of this before, tried this day trading thing, thought it might be easy, it isn't. ended up with around 4000 shares, maybe around 2.80 and just stopped. I hope it just goes well, really see no reason for it not to. So I will just sit here and wait. I have enjoyed reading everybodies comments, its interesting, hard job this

Hey, great luck right off the bat! I buy, and hold, and personally find it to be the best, safest, and most consistent way to make gains. I'd recommend reading "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham, and "One up on wall street" by Peter Lynch to start. Invest in the company, not the share price, and you will have a much easier time. Cheers!

Newbie64. You did very well, and should do even better with Sona as the days and weeks go buy. Just knowing when to sell is your next decision. After that you could use the majority of cash to buy blue chip stocks and live off the dividends. Just my opinion.

i plan to just live off the TFSA and what i generate off of the investments, everything else, well you woulkd have to pull it out at 71, if thats the worst you have to deal with, well thats great

You don't have to pull anything out after 71. You simply transfer on paper to a self directed TFSA or a self directed RRIF. See a qualified(honest) investment counsellor not a friggin Bank.

I have never been a daytrader but it looks like it might be fun if you know what you are doing but as some people have stated it can go wrong real quick if news happens. I wouldn't chance it but hey that my opinion.
