Latest video interview

Just finished watching the latest video with Mike Burns and am very disappointed in the direction the company is headed.  R&D is fun for these scientists, but it doesn't make any money and is a drain on cash.  When I first invested it was because in their first Q they were cash flow positive.
Now instead of focusing on generating revenue and profitability, they're focused on R&D.
First pop up (hopefully) and I'm out of here.  What a disappointment!!!

I'm not saying you don't have a point about R&D, but may I suggest you listen to parts 2 and 3 before you condemn the whole company. They may have information about new sales initiatives. Besides, our government gives out grants to companies for R&D so it might not be the drain you think it is

Im surprised you feel this way. R&D investment is directly correlated with growth.  Companies that invest in develpoing new technologies ALWAYS grow and most of the time gain a competative advantage. In UAV's case, the money spent on R&D will help them get established as leaders in the industry. Additionally, there is a thing called SRED tax credit + Refund. Look it up if youre a ...more

Explain to me in simple terms how a tax credit benefits a company today that is losing money.
Comment by BLB0691 on Aug 06, 2018 1:48pm
SR&ED tax credits are refundable tax credits up 35% I believe, so even if the company doesn't earn money, 35% of R&D costs are credited to the company to help pay for the expenses. Therefore lowering the cost. You can check out the Revenue Canada website for more info. https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/scientific-research-experimental-development-tax-incentive-program ...more

Good post BLB0691! In other very simple terms: The government is sharing the cost burden with canadian companies engaged in R&D in order for them to be competative. The government allows certain R&D costs to reduce the amount of taxes a company has to pay (That otherwise wouldnt qulaify) The government also gives the company money back on the taxes they paid for these R&D ...more

So, in the example, you spend $200k and get back $70k which means you had a net outlay of $130k.  Wow!  That's really exciting.  Maybe if they spent more they could get more credits.  Wouldn't that be great!!! Seriously, I understand that a certain amount of R&D is necessary, but when you transition from your mission statement of generating revenue and profits to ...more

They will look like shiiiiiiit as always imho. My guess is insiders, consultants and contractors will think otherwise. This company has turned into a big fat dud imho after having so much promise. Only down 12.5% today. Pretty good, start to the week as always. How about some new management already before all of our money is squandered.
Comment by ClockworkRed on Aug 07, 2018 10:15pm
Why is it that, despite the fact the price has been bouncing around in a narrow range for the past month or so, you're constantly here to cherry-pick the lowest point of the day.  You never talk about what the price ends up at.  And you're certainly never there to talk about when it finishes up for the day. When it rose to $.25, you were nowhere to be seen.  But you bashed ...more
Comment by ClockworkRed on Aug 07, 2018 10:23pm
You do realize that the fact that they did R&D in the past, is the reason why they aren't stuck like so many others, doing bargain basement UAV services like real estate photography for $50/hour, right? So you just want somebody else to fund the R&D, and then you come in and reap the benefit.  Is that it?  R&D is the ONLY way a tech company will make money.   ...more

No need to respond anymore Red, you're on IGNORE.
Comment by Snickel on Aug 08, 2018 11:29am
Come on Bayou.......give us a break. Clockwork is right. Tech companies only succeed with really good R&D.  That is how it works.  That is how you get a contract from gov't.  That is how you don't get crushed by competitors.  And it is how a small company sets itself up for a buyout from a large corporation looking to eliminate competition. And, if the gov't ...more

100% right. This company is doing this that no other company is doing. Pioneering this industry cost some money. The fact that the Canadian government has supported and has meetings with UAV is huge. They have also done introductions down south. Things take time. On the other hand all sectors  and industry have been terrible this year. I really don’t see many plays that areup from last year ...more

i'm a shareholder as well but let's not act like uav is the only company in this space. they've come a long way but have still a ways to go. August 3, 2018 Drone Delivery Canada (DDC) has announced Transport Canada has granted it a SFOC (Special Flight Operations Certificate) approving the company to commence testing of its Robin X1400 cargo delivery drone in Canadian skies. Here we go................JohnnyCash using the UAV forum to talk up DDC. Keep it up Johnny. What garbage.

Are you really that delusional bud? Look at the market cap of FLT and then look at the market cap of UAV. Look at the charts and the current share prices too. You are completely wrong and still have not found your calculator I see. Still waiting for your math on the last BS you were spewing and got called out on. Someone in this sector is doing things that is benefitting shareholders greatly and ...more

All you are pointing out about DDC is that R&D is the only way. The other thing is UAV and DDC aren’t even in the same space! Just because it’s based around drones, doesn’t mean there are any similarities in business models. I mean UAV actually makes money for starters lol
Comment by divot111 on Aug 08, 2018 2:55pm
UAV actually makes money? Lol, for who? Certainly not me and you as shareholders. Or are you an insider? You need to check your math too. Revenue don’t mean squat if none of it goes back to the common shareholders who fund everything.
Comment by shakeurtailfeathers on Aug 08, 2018 3:02pm
Nobody gives a sh it about your opinion. They make revenues based on their financials. The fact  you buy in the .20s and hold all the way down is not the markets problem. This stick also doesn’t care about your $2000 you put in and can’t pay rent
Comment by divot111 on Aug 08, 2018 3:09pm
Nice contribution bud. You morons were saying the same thing when we were still above .20. Do I need to send you a calculator. Or better yet google calculator and use one of the many online versions. Even better look at the chart. Pump away bud. FLT over 260 million market cap and you still have the gull to tell the market they are wrong. Seems they are speaking loudly. You must have all your ...more

LOL, thanks for bringing this up.  It puts it into stark light, what a joke DDC's market valuation is.  They have achieved some real milestones here!  They got an SFOC for an off the shelf commercial system they bought.  Something that thousands of people across Canada have done.  Yay! And they announced another trial. WooHoo. Meanwhile, UAV actually getting stuff ...more

Nice pump! Worked well. Only down 6.67% so far today.
Comment by bayoubucks on Aug 09, 2018 10:16am
You can't meet your payroll with R&D.  That's why these little companies are always having to finance, finance, finance, dilute, dilute, dilute. Look UAV is my largest holding, well in to 6 figures, but I have the right to vent my displeasure when they change the course of the company. If you bought a ticket on a plane from Vancouver to London and half way there they announced ...more

You think like a sack of hammers dude. This company is in its second full year and revs are almost double year over year. From comparing 1st and 2nd quarter. I mean look at the graph from last financials . Posting about how R&D doesn’t pay the bills?  This is year 2! Nice soft bash though. You say this is your biggest holding but seem to have no grasp on this company
Comment by divot111 on Aug 09, 2018 3:47pm
You,are a name calling assshole too. Stop demeaning other shareholders for having valid concerns and opinions. You and your buddy Snick are outright dikheads.
Comment by shakeurtailfeathers on Aug 09, 2018 4:15pm
You know what’s strange divot?  When UAV ran in to the .20s you disappeared. After spending weeks complaining and claiming to be a shareholder. But the moment things look good you don’t stick around. Hhmmm ya that’s weird huh
Comment by divot111 on Aug 09, 2018 4:27pm
Keep making stuff up bud. My post history is right there for all to see and you are full of shyte. Give some proof of your lies bud. On a positive note, thanks to whoever painted the close from .07 to .08. On a negative note, it just sets up for the drop back down to .07 or lower tomorrow. I really hope this runs before the financials come out cause it sure as heck isn’t going to run after they ...more

Lol, didn’t take long to drop right back down to .07 first thing this morning just as I said it would. Pretty soon we will all be having the same arguments at.06 and .05 while FLT and PNG keep getting it done for shareholders along with insiders. You know......a balance.
