BC has been promised jobs by mining companies and the importation of tempoary migrant workers shoots a hole in that promise. Foreign workers will be paid 15% less than Canadian workers and they can't complain about health and safety because then their employer won't sponsor them if they want Canadian citizenship. Such a deal.
The only thing accomplished by such a plan is conflict between the unemployed and imported workers. That, of course, is the intent. Its the old divide and conquer game.
Most Canadians are fed up with mining corporations that ruin the environment and disrespect aboriginal rights. In fact ecocide=genocide.
Seems to me that there are more ethical investments to be made. I am urging all of you to re-think your investment options. Do you really want to profit from misery?
