Company wasting money

This has been a long time coming. We as managers know the company has been asking us to break the law for years...and we have done all of their evil bidding just to draw a pay cheque. If this company wasn`t run by such arrogant careless `business men``perhaps they would have known quite a while ago...they should have knocked out the DVP`s making over 100,000 a year...then the Regional managers making well over 50,000 a year and then just MAYBE they would have cancelled their regional retreat that for those of you who do not know...all the DVPs and REgional Managers along with the big wigs get taken away to Arizona for fun in the sun, spa`s, drinking and partying for days at the company``s expense every November. This company would be nothing without the front line the staff in the stores that  look their loyal customer in the face and rip them off because we are told to do it. I just wonder when the axe is going to fall in NS, NB and NFLD some of the poorest provinces who have the highest percentage rate for borrowing. At least the Ontario Governemnt cares about poor people being taken advantage of because something sure as hell isn``t right in the Atlantic provinces...This was a long time coming and to `` AT A LOSS`` I am finding it really hard to believe you are a manager or CSR' you sound more like upper management to me because I can guarantee you that only a hand full of ass kissers feel the way you do that work for these sleeze bags! They have never cared for their employees!

Everyone from the top execs down to the branch managers knew that laws were being broken. The entire business was structured to skirt the provincial laws, argue the facts, bleed their customers and settle lawsuits. Anyone who says otherwise is either clueless or lying. Too bad front line employees haven't spoken up until now, it would have saved a lot of shareholders their money

Try sleeping at night when you know a single mom comes in to borrow $100.00 and we had to charge them 162.50 with all of the card fees and interest. When we as staff spoke up we were threatened with our jobs. so many staff have gone on stress leave because their conscience was destroyed by the actions that we have had to take! When staff tried to speak up or write on the in house message board our ...more

Well now, ty for assuming that I am lying spyguy lol. I am far from management, I am a branch manager in southern Ontario. I don't kiss ass, I see it like it is - business is business and just because I have a high regard for my regional manager and my career doesn't make me an executive - I only wish I could have access to all that money. I guess I could take it as a compliment, do I ...more

At A LOSS....well that makes more sense. if you are lucky enough to have a great regional that is of no way a reflection of the company. Having a good rapoor with your customers is no reflection of the company.  This company makes personal attacks on their staff if you have a voice. Come on you have never been expected to PAD an account more than the legal amount of times...you have never ...more

Not once was I told to mention court... however, I was a rookie then and didn't know the laws in regards to the pad process until I became aware of it - so yes you are correct on that note. Thing is, how else were we supposed to get the money that was owed to the company if we didn't do those pads?? take their word for it that they would come in and pay? lol I am not saying the company is ...more

One thing these days is employees for any company should keep their eyes open to what's going on in the news/media.  Little hints that let you know things aren't going well.  My first hint with this company was putting people who had been full time on part time.  If no one volunteered then one person would just have to go part time, then closing on Sundays.  I was ...more

you are probably right about that, I didnt really keep up with the media etc. quite a bit of all the class actions etc. were before my time with the company. and for Christmas parties?? In my last career we had to pay for ticket to go to our own Christmas party where we had to pay for our own drinks as well. My last job always hid fraudulent activities (stealing of gov't grants, high expense ...more

It wasn't a bad job as far as most things go.  I think a lot had to do with what type of person you had as a manager.  Some really shouldn't have been made managers!  I didn't get bonuses at my previous job during the year, but didn't get a decent year end bonus.  I always felt like we were taking advantage of people though.  I used to do collections at my ...more
